Gorilla Riot
July 27, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm

BLUES/ROCK
Tickets £10.00 + £1.00 P&P
Rocking the rafters at The Meeting Room Elland on Saturday 27th July – we’ll be giving it up for Gorilla Riot, the 5-piece dirty rock n’ roll blues machine from Manchester, playing some high energy, raucous blues-based rock with elements of grunge, stoner and country highlights!
Main man Arjun Bhishma is accompanied by Liam Henry and Charly T on guitars and vocals, with James Degnen on bass and David Thomas on drums – some of Manchester’s best musical talent that’s equally at home either acoustically or electrically.
Gorilla Riot is one of the best new rock bands in the country right now, mixing throaty rock’n’roll with a gritty AC/DC edge and classic acoustic songs inspired by Guns N’ Roses.
“Our main thing is electric, but the acoustic stuff is a big part of our sound as well,” says Arjun. “All of our favourite bands have done acoustic stuff – Guns N’ Roses, the grunge bands. But we’re not just doing electric songs on an acoustic guitar. We arrange them properly, they stand alone.”
So why Gorilla Riot? “Gorilla Riot is our favourite whiskey,” says Arjun. “We don’t have a sponsorship deal or anything, we just really like it. Booze isn’t essential to what we do, but it is a big part of it!”

Support From Loz Campbell
It’s going to be a great night – we’re excited to report we’ve just had confirmation that Yorkshire based singer-songwriter and guitarist Loz Campbell will also be on stage with her band supporting Gorilla Riot, showcasing her stunning and unique voice. Loz and the band perform across the UK, with a style that spans grunge rock through to deep and meaningful vocals, playing Loz’s own songs and a selection of very individual covers.
