Alex McKown Band

The Meeting Room Elland is proud to promote new young talents and on Saturday 30th May we are doubling up on our musical entertainment with two exciting bands, “The Tom Killner Band” and “The Alex McKown Band”.

First up is the Tom Killner Band, a three-piece consisting of Nigel Killner on bass, on drums long time friend Jake Ashton and fronting on guitar and vocal Tom. This up and coming guitarist and his band have opened up for some greats, to name just one Danny Bryant, who said of Tom to quote “an excellent and incredible guitarist”. Having hit the Great Britain Blues Festivals, theatres and clubs around the country, the guys are widening their audience by playing on the European circuit. Tom plays with emotion from deep down inside the soul and hits you in places you did not even know existed; he’s a very exciting young prospect.

Our second and headlining artist is “The Alex Mckown Band” another young guitarist who has honed his guitar skills on the pub and club circuit around the UK. Alex and the band’s hard work and dedication means they are now firm favourites at some of the top Blues music festivals. Alex has also featured on two significant albums, keeping company with the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Walter Trout and Robert Cray. The band’s latest own album “Go with the Flow” has been played on radio stations across the world, including Paul Jones’ Radio 2 show. This double hitter down here at The Meeting Room Elland on Saturday 30th May is building up to be one hell of a guitar fest, with two of the UK’s top young guns on the blues/rock scene today.
